SURVIVING TERRORISM

A Recognition and Response Guide to Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Attack

Civilian Edition

Alexander E. Gowen

Book Summary

This help guide provides the information you will need in order to recognize and respond to a terrorist attack involving chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons.  There is also an added chapter on SARS, which is not listed as a biological weapon but remains a considerable global health concern.  It is suggested by the author that readers memorize this material as it could save your life should the unthinkable occur since during an attack involving weapons of mass destruction every second counts.  The more you know about the weapons that may be used against you the greater your chance of survival.

Surviving Terrorism is divided into two sections.  The first section is designed for quick use and contains signs and symptoms charts and other vital information that is easily referenced during an emergency situation. The second section of the book, for those who wish to learn more, provides expanded information on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons.

“I believe you will find Surviving Terrorism to be a concise and easy to understand manual that will help save your life should terrorism strike again.  It is my deepest hope, however, that you will never have to use my book.  Surviving Terrorism does not dispense any medical advice – it is meant to guide you through an emergency situation involving weapons of mass destruction and get you and those under your care to safety.”
